Nars Sheer Glow with my Gilda/Orgasm Blushes - Excuse the dirty table.
So what did i generally think of these three products? Let me tell you how i came to pick these products up. So ive been on the hunt for the perfect foundation and trust me ive tried a few..From Mac to Clinique to Bare Minerals, EDM, Drugstore foundations - Revlon, Rimmel Etc and to be honest i was getting sick of it. I wanted a foundation which was going to provide good coverage with ease whilst not applying to much nor looking cakey. I went through research and saw that NARS sheer glow was a highly recommended foundation on youtube videos specifically: Lollipop26 and MakeupByTiffanyD (Which you can search on youtube) and fell into the hype. Previous to my visit i had already purchased NARS orgasm blush..which i quite like- but will put that in another review.
So i went into Myers to have a sales assistant color match me with Santa Fe alongside my jawline. To be honest i went in thinking that Santa Fe or Stromboli would be perfect match.. i am NC30-35 for reference but since its in the winter i might be NC30 or alittle bit lighter since no fake tan. I bought the bottle for AUST $99 and i gotta tell you it hurt. I was thinking in my head this better be exceptional if im paying $99. So the next day tried it on and i can honestly say it does give excellent coverage with a semi matte finish. So...before you go in thinking youre going to get a completely dewy glow youre wrong. However that being said, if your skin is on the oily side which is Muah...unfortunately then you may experience the dewy glow to it. I loved the finish to it, however i gotta admit the colour selection well to me is alittle bit lacking. Stromboli was way too yellow and i am asian....WAY tooo yellow and a touch too dark however Santa fe was way too light for me. Alas, Santa fe was probably the most perfect match however i probably shouldve gave Punjab a try also as i hear its alittle bit darker.

So i tried applying it a few ways as well, a typical foundation brush, my bare fingers and stippling brush. I found the stippling brush was the best way to apply this foundation as i stipple it onto my skin then buff it out. Im not so sure about the fingers method, i felt that it didnt really provide enough coverage...if any coverage at all *shrugs, maybe thats why people said it was a completely natural finish that being said my skin isnt the best skin in the world and i have quite a few blemishes and marks to cover so the stippling method was best. The lasting power was average, i even put under my mac prep and prime and powder and still i got shiny within 4 hours... not the best. The coverage i can say however is pretty good for such a lightweight foundation and if you can find a match then it does look pretty flawless. Overall im impressed with it, however im not so keen on the price and it doesnt look so great in pictures - im not sure what it is or maybe its just my face...*sigh*
See not the most photogenic foundation however looks better in real life (Excuse the towels behind me tehehe)
Having said that...would i buy this again? i love love love the finish so..Yes- if they came with a pump you dont have to buy, reduced its price and came in more varied shades...i love how it has a yellow tone to most of the shades however the shade jump from the lighter to darker is immense in my opinion. But it is my holy grail for now...that is until i find something better.
What were your experiences with the foundation?
toodles xoxo
